Soul Portraits

Crafted on fine leather with silk embroidery and ribbon, bead work, paint and drawing, each piece is a portrait of someone’s inner beauty: their Soul Portrait. Alison gathers stories and impressions of the person whose portrait it is, talking to the person themselves (unless it is to be a surprise gift) and asking her or his family and friends what it is about the person they most admire and value. Alison then works the piece to reflect and express what she has heard and absorbed and appreciated about the person whose portrait it is. The soul portraits are undertaken on commission as hangings or robes.
